Posting About Your Business On Facebook Without Annoying Your Friends

I have two friends on Facebook who post about their business in very different ways, one annoying and one who does it correctly in my opinion.

First, I will explain how not to post about your business on Facebook. My annoying friend posts something about her business several times a week. These posts are about some special promotion she is having, some new client she just got, a project she just completed, or an open house. What I find particularly annoying is the quantity of these self-promotion posts and that they are the majority of posts that this Facebook friend posts. These posts come across as begging for business or a hard sale and neither of these approaches works to get my business. The way these posts are written is also annoying where an open house is posted saying something like "open house this Saturday at some address. Come buy this great home this weekend, it will sell fast." As your Facebook friend, I prefer to see posts about you and what you are doing in your personal life, photos are even better! I know what business you are in and an occasional post about what you are doing in your business is nice to see.

My other Facebook friend posts about his business in a much different way. He mostly posts about his personal life and posts a lot of photos. When he does post about his business it is in a way that isn't nearly as pushy or asking for business as the way my annoying friend does it. For example, my friend who does it correctly will post something like "I'm off to hold an open house at some address. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and have a cookie and we can catch up." Or they might post about a new listing by saying something like "If you know anyone looking for a home in some neighborhood, let them know about this beautiful home that is a great deal and was just listed". This friend also posts useful information about a neighborhood such as a post about a great farmers market. These posts come across as not a hard sale but remind me about my Facebook friends business. They also seem like they're just asking for me to come and visit him at an open house or about helping a friend of mine to find a new home in a neighborhood they are interested in.

If I get enough comments on this post with examples of both good and bad practices, I'll create another post compiling a list of your tips on what to post and what not to post on Facebook about your business. LoDo is a vibrant neighborhood next to downtown Denver. LoDo is where the city of Denver was born. LoDo has an abundance of nightlife and restaurants. If you live in a loft in LoDo, you can walk to many great restaurants and bars. If you work downtown, there isn't a better commute available! Just walk from LoDo to your office.

In the late 1980's developers began to convert old warehouse buildings in to hip new lofts in LoDo. The development of lofts in LoDo continues still today and will continue for several years to come.

The Platte River trail runs right through LoDo and is great for running or biking. You can take the Platter River trail north for 18 miles or south for 16 miles. It intersects several other trails including the Clear Creek trail, the Cherry Creek trail, and the Bear Creek trail. This allows you to go on very long bike rides or runs staying on trails the whole time.

Description
This fun event in Louisville, can be as competitive or leisurely as you like. There will be 2 wave starts; the 1st for competitive runners with and without dogs and 2nd for walkers, strollers, joggers, etc. The race/walk will be on the Coal Creek Trail, sure fun for you and your dog. After the 5K stick around for vendors such as pet sitters, massages, healthy treats, a bath, educational expos for kids and all the current labs available for adoption from the Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue.

Please note - each runner is allowed to be accompanied by a MAXIMUM of 2 (two) dogs each. If you don't want to participate in the 5K, please come enjoy the fair! Registration is only required for the 5K. The registration fee includes your 5K race and an event-sponsored, moisture wicking t-shirt. All proceeds go to RMLR! This event is being hosted by Centaurus High School DECA and the Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue. Come not only support the Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue, but help support Centaurus High School too!
